Abercorn Masonic Lodge 299 Abercorn Masonic Lodge was duly constituted on the 27 July1874. The foundation members were in the main brethren from Lodge No 39 and the first officers were all from Lodge No 39 except the Secretary – W Bro George Hill Smith was from Lodge No 666, Dublin. The Lodge continued working until September when for reasons unknown the warrant was returned to Grand Lodge! The Lodge Jewels were handed to the Worshipful Master of lodge No 39 for safe keeping. These Jewels are of solid silver and were a gift to the Lodge by the Secretary W Bro George Hill Smith. The warrant was restored on the 27 January 1896 and the original Jewels were returned to the Lodge. The Lodge meets on the on the 4th Thursday, at 8.00pm – except June, July and August. A warm welcome is extended to all visitors
