Lodge No. 384 Dundalk Lodge No. 384 meets on the first Wednesday each month at 8.00pm except June, July and August in Freemason’s Hall Dundalk. The Lodge was granted its warrant in 1802 and has been in continuous working since that date. A warm welcome is extended to visitors and guests in Lodge and at the Festive Board that follows the Lodge meeting. History It was during
the Wars of the French Revolution, that Lord Roden raised the 1st
Fencible Light Dragoons in the town of Dundalk, which was later to
become known as Lord Roden's Fox-hunters. This regiment was placed
on the Irish Establishment on 21st July, 1794, and disbanded 7th October,
1800. The warrant of Lodge No 384 had at this time been granted to
the town of Loughrea, to hold Masonic Meetings in the town on 7th
October, 1762. On 2nd May, 1799 Lodge 384, was compounded for arrears
of dues owed to the Grand Lodge of Ireland. A duplicate Warrant was
then granted to the Earl of Rodens' 1st Fencible Light Dragoons; when
at the time the regiment was then deployed in the town of Bandon,
in Cork. The Earl of Rodens' Fencible regiment returned home to Dundalk
in December 1802, where it was quartered on part of Lord Roden's Estate,
and as a result of their return, Lodge No.384 has continued in the
town of Dundalk ever since. 50 Year Jewel. On the 31 March 2006 - W Bro Bertie Farlow was presented with his fifty year Jewel. The Provincail Grand Master presented the jewel. Bertie is a very active mason and continues in office as the Director of Ceremonies. The photograph shows Bertie receiving his certificate from the Worshipful Master.
